I Upgraded on my Win 10 computer in Fairbanks ,then traveled and stayed 3 months in North Carolina and upgraded a laptop there. When I came home everything was fine until I ran the next upgrade. I had some trouble getting the software to run but finally it worked. This Win 10 computer wants to save the software as an Adobe pdf . It makes it hard to upgrade.
Somewhere in here the software could not see that the Halo was plugged in.
The Aha software installer should not be saving as a PDF, so that definitely sounds unusual.
Has the issue been resolved now?
If the software still cannot detect the Halo, please let us know what is happening currently and share a screenshot if possible. That will help us better understand the situation and suggest the next steps.
Nothing has worked. The software doesn’t see the Halo. I have a new windows 11 Home edition computer from Dell that I have not started using yet. I have several Spooky2 devices In the basement. I could use this computer down there. This Win 10 device isn’t supported and I was going to replace it when this problem showed up. What do you think?
First, please hold Alt and click the Aha Halo logo in the top-left corner of the software to check your current firmware version.
You can also try a different USB port or a different USB cable, as connection issues can sometimes prevent the software from detecting the Halo.
If that still doesn’t help, the best next step would be to record a short video showing the issue and send it to support@ahaharmony.com. Our support team can then work with you one-on-one to help resolve it. ![]()

The software sees my halo once in awhile. I have to have done a total reboot and changed ports. Then when I open the software with my halo plugged in and “on” , the software will see it. I have used that to be certain my software is totally up to date. Also to be certain my firmware level is the latest. But it never lasts.
The message that comes up is:
Connection to halo is lost
Exception RuntimeException-1000
