Thank you. Much appreciated. Therefore I do not know why a video has been made explaining a protocol that does not work, You clear the confusion. 
From spooky2 support I was able to get a manual firmware instruction and update for the left button issue.
perform the firmware upgrade according to this instruction: https://www.ahaharmony.com/firmware-upgrade/
After following the above link the Halo left button (lock and dim display) now works perfectly.
