Using a Windows PC then changing to Apple (mac)

I am wondering if anyone else has any experience in originally using the aha halo on an Windows PC and then changing to a mac? I have been using my device on windows for about 2 weeks and then recently swapped over to apple computers. I have had extreme difficulty trying to get the device to register after reinstalling software and spending a few hours with chat GPT showing me how to run via “Rosetta” and all sorts of workarounds. The only thing that worked was to install a program called “Parralells” onto my Mac and download windows so I can run both on the same computer. (this will be convenient for things moving forward as I can use both windows and Mac) but it has been extremely frustrating and difficult to navigate

Sounds like you installed the Windows version on a Mac. On the download page, there’s two tab riders, and if you select “macOS” you can download the native macOS version that runs without all the hassles you described.

Hey there, no i definitely didnt install the windows version on the mac. Sorry if my comment wasn’t clear. I was using a windows PC originally (I downloaded windows version on the windows computer) then i got a new computer, a MacBook laptop for my new job, and downloaded the mac version onto the mac computer. I have been working with ChatGPT to try and fix the problem and the only workaround was to install “parralells” onto the macbook, which is a program that can run windows software on a macbook. Its running Windows 11 (I think) - it is the current Windows software.

Hi there, I am a Mac user and hope to assist. You do not need ANYTHING else for it to work on a Mac. No Rosetta, no parallels-nothing. Do NOT install the accompanied “driver” when you download the Mac version. Not needed at all. Sounds like you have really installed unnecessary stuff. The Mac version runs perfect just as is. I would suggest getting rid of everything you thought you needed, use a delete program such as App Delete or App Cleaner for the Mac which will find all the bits and pieces of SW that gets installed in hidden folders. This will be a clean delete. Don’t just drag the app to the trash. It can be confusing for Windows users moving to Mac because of all the crap they have to deal with on the Windows side.

Thank you Commanderjoy - it truly felt like overkill to utilise the workaround I have done. Originally i attempted to run with rosetta, and then the driver-bridge and when it still didnt work, i downloaded a trial for parralells but i need to pay for it once the trial is over. Parralells is the only thing so far that has worked.

Sir…..(or madame) i could kiss you!! Not only did your advice allow the aha halo device to finally work, you have saved me money on an unecessary Windows subscription (one of the reasons i took this job was to convert to mac) but also taught me a few tricks. The MacBook is running better than it ever did. It was a computer i inherited so I have managed to clean it up and remove all the files that the previous user had downloaded. Thank you, Thank you!!!

You are most welcome. I have used Macs (never PCs) for over 30 years, so am a bit of an expert and do some light tech support for clients, family and friends. Happy to help and glad you got everything cleaned up and out, and are running smoothly. Please feel free to reach out if you have other issues. BTW, when it comes to the Aha Halo software updates when they release them for the new Peptides, if you have issues where they are not visible after you click on “Software Update”, and it supposedly does update, just hold down the Option key and click on Software Update. That seems to help. Welcome to the world of Mac! And yes, “Madame” is correct.
