My Halo device is not working all of a sudden, and I’ve tried everything I can think of, using the manual, and switching to different computers and unplugging, replugging the cables, even reset the device, but still all i get is-- no Halo connected. I’ve been using this for weeks now with no problems, but just today this happens. Any advice for me, anyone?
Hi.
There are reports of select Aha software installer versions not detecting Aha Halo device.
Beside the above, someone has shared in the forum a procedure for proper/clean installation of Aha Halo software:
- Uninstall old version of Aha Halo software.
- Restart computer.
- Delete the remaining directory/folder in which the Aha Halo software was previously installed.
- Download the latest software installer manually from Aha Halo website:
Software Download - Aha Harmony - Install the Aha Halo software using the downloaded installer.
- Restart the computer.
For connectivity to work:
- Turn Halo off.
- Connect Halo to the computer using the cable supplied with Halo.
- Ensure that USB-C (small connector) end of the cable is plugged directly into the Halo.
- Ensure that the USB-A (large connector) end of the cable is plugged into the computer. Use the USB-A-to-USB-C adapter enclosed with the cable if computer does not have an available USB-A port.
- Start Aha software.
- Turn Aha Halo on.
I hope this helps. If these steps do not work, much hoping Aha Halo team could help out with this.
Thank you and best of luck.

Thanks CKB, tried everything again hoping for a different result, but ended up with the same old problem. I’m unable to diagnose this correctly it appears, so hoping for some Halo Tech support soon.
Update — Now the problem appears to have been the cable. I switched to a generic cable i had lying around, plugged it into my Halo device it appears to have fixed the problem. Hope the problem is resolved completely now. So, I guess now the cable that came with Halo is no good. Hmmm
My Halo device is recognized by the computer/software only when I plug it in according to these rules:
- Ensure that USB-C (small connector) end of the cable is plugged directly into the Halo.
- Ensure that the USB-A (large connector) end of the cable is plugged into the computer. Use the USB-A-to-USB-C adapter enclosed with the cable if computer does not have an available USB-A port.
When I reverse the cable connectors, the computer/software stops recognizing Halo.
