Dear users. After the last Aha Halo software update, I lost communication with the system’s COM port. The error is “Exception IO exception 0 Failed to open COM5 device on Windows”. I open the device manager and everything is OK with COM5. Could you please help me with this? Thank you for your kindness.
I’d recommend to restart the computer first. Under some unlucky conditions, it can happen that the VCP driver which translates serial commands to halo will not reset fully. A restart usually fixes that.
If it doesn’t, if possible connect your halo to a different USB port of your computer.
If still no success, open the log folder from halo’s menu and send the most recent log to user support, or use the menu command to do so.

I had the exact same issue with my two Halos and my Windows computer. One of the Halos will connect just fine but the other will not, even when using the same cable. I ended up having to install the Halo software on my MacBook, and both devices work fine on that platform. Very strange.
