Firmware upgrade

I haven’t done a firmware upgrade yet. I’m afraid that something will go wrong and I won’t know how to fix it. Seems like others have had issues. Any suggestions?

There was a bug in the software that set halo into firmware upgrade mode (and thus deleted the current firmware) even when the user did not want to update. This should be fixed, but a firmware upgrade is always a delicate procedure which could set a device into an unresponsive state.

For this case, there is the Windows-exclusive updater tool available for download from the site. It will directly connect to halo and can be used to revive it when it is blocked in its upgrade mode. So if you have a Windows computer at hand (or a Mac or Linux with a Windows VM), you are on the safe side even if an upgrade from within the halo app should fail.

Can you provide a link to the “Windows-exclusive updater tool”?

I am sorry. I thought it would be available for free download, but I erred.
Please ask the support team for the download.
